This working session will further explore the forces leading to either engaged or disengaged employees. Using a combination of lecturette, small and large group activities, this 2-hour workshop will:
- Identify the specific business risks at at organizations across the U.C. where worker disengagement is growing
- Discuss leadership behaviors that are either capturing or alienating the potential emotional commitment of employees
- Discuss best practices for creating/sustaining employee engagement even in times of uncertainty and tight budgets
- Explore the unique importance of integrity and perspective as key organizational values fostered by high-EE cultures
- Develop a company specific action plan for raising employee engagement in your organization

Guest Speaker:
Paul Meshanko
Edge Learning Institute of Ohio
Paul Meshanko is an author, speaker and seminar leader with over 15 years of experience in adult education. After a 12 year career with AlliedSignal’s (now Honeywell) Automotive Group, he joined Edge Learning Institute in 1997 to open and manage the company’s Cleveland sales office. Edge Learning is a 36 year-old Tacoma, WA based provider of individual and team-based effectiveness training curriculums.
Since joining Edge, Paul has addressed thousands of professionals across the U.S. in manufacturing, health care, and the public service sectors. In addition to Respectful Workplaces, other topics he speaks on include Effective Time Management, Creating High-Powered Work Teams, and Organizational Resiliency.
Paul holds a business degree from The Ohio State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace College. He is an active member of the American Society for Training & Development’s Cleveland Chapter and lives with his wife and two children in Cleveland, OH. His latest book, Conversations on Success, was published in May, 2005.
